Featured Entrepreneur: SERANTONI Designs

Want to be inspired by entrepreneurs who are doing something great? Then read on. Each day we feature new entrepreneurs who are passionate about their business and who are living their dream.
Today’s entrepreneur is Mary Serantoni.

When and why did you start your business?

October 2010.

What do you love about being an entrepreneur?

It’s a lifelong journey of education, inspiration and joy.

Describe your business in 20 words or less.

Award-winning Fine Art Travel Photography featuring Collections of Venice, Tuscany, Paris, City Novellas and Nature photography.

Where do you get your inspiration from and how do you stay inspired?

I never have a shortage of inspiration. Still, the catalyst was taking a U.S. News and World Report award-winning class on ‘Entrepreneurial Strategies’ at Chicago’s DePaul University. Ever since, I’ve contemplated various businesses — till I knew that Fine Art Photography encompassed my complete skillset and was infinitely rewarding.
I stay inspired by reading about successful entrepreneurs, studying The Masters, and constantly striving to improve my Photographic skills.

What is your biggest success or accomplishment you’re most proud of in your business?

The accomplishment I’m most proud of is the ‘Client Testimonials’ page that is included as the final sidebar thumbnail on each product listing. It never fails to thrill me when reading a joyful response to purchased art!

What advice would you give other entrepreneurs when they are first starting out?

Read voraciously. Leave no stone unturned. Select sucessful role models, and create your business blueprint from their proven strategies and wisdom.

Where do you see your company in three years?

I’m focusing on increasing product line, getting more Blog features, establishing wholesale accounts, and developing a healthy Blog subscribership. Of course, these goals are the infrastructure to achieving a goal of 30 – 100 sales monthly.

What is one thing you wish you knew about being an entrepreneur when you first started out?

Don’t take it personally when your Shop has zillions of Hearts and Treasury features, but few Sales. Track, measure, analyze, stay curious and relentless in finding solutions for long-term success.
